A Garnish native and co-founder of Dursey Boat Trips, Paul’s passion and knowledge of the local history has been passed down through generations. Paul is a natural story-teller and will capture your imagination from the moment you set foot onboard.
Did you know? Paul’s father in law was a lighthouse keeper on the Bull Rock during the 1980’s.
Jason Sheehan
A third-generation fisherman and co-founder of Dursey Boat Trips, Jason has been on boats since before he could walk. Born and bred in Castletownbere, Jason has spent his entire life navigating the shores of the Beara Peninsula and is able to recount many a tale from the high seas in vivid detail.
Did you know? Jason’s grandfather James operated the Dursey Island Cable Car from 1969 – 1991.
Finbar Sheehan
Another Garnish native, Finbar grew up overlooking Dursey Island, the cable car and our Bull Rock route. Finbar is also a third-generation fisherman with a wealth of knowledge of the local coast and currents.
Did you know? Finbar owns and operates his own trawler based out of Castletownbere.
Dave Fenton
Despite being a Kerry-man, we welcomed Dave as a member of our team in our first year of operations back in 2019. Dave has adopted Castletownbere as his second home and when not on the water you will find him out on the GAA pitch playing for Castletownbere.

Fergus O’Driscoll
Originally from Eyeries, Fergus has a wealth of experience on the water. A second-generation seaman, Fergus has spent over 20 years on deep-sea merchant ships all over the world.
Did you know? Fergus teaches the passenger and skippers ticket boat licenses in the Castletownbere training centre.
Brendan O’Driscoll
A highly experienced fisherman from Castletownbere, Brendan has spent over 45 years navigating the Wild Atlantic waters. Although now retired, Brendan’s passion still lies out on the water making Dursey Boat trips his favourite retirement pastime!
Did you know? Brendan has fished waters from Norway all the way down to Spain.
Joe McGuinness
Hailing from Killybegs, Co. Donegal, Ireland’s largest fishing port, Joe and his wife Trish moved to Castletownbere 10 years ago. A fisherman who has spent over 40 years at sea, Joe is at ease at the helm of any boat and loves to answer all your questions.
