Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend wearing warm, splash-proof clothing, even on summer days. It will feel cool once we depart the pier. Expect some sea-spray on windy days. Apply sun cream if necessary.

A camera is all we recommend! Please take appropriate medication if you suffer from motion sickness.

We provide lifejackets to all our passengers. All passengers are required to wear the specification of lifejacket we provide. You cannot bring your own.

The minimum age for all our trips is 6 years old. There is no maximum age!

For the Bull Rock Trip, there are public toilets located at Garnish Beach, 300 metres from Garnish Pier. For the Castletownbere Harbour Trip, there are public toilets located behind the Fire Station in the Square.

We do not recommend our trips for pregnant women, or passengers with heart conditions or back problems as they may experience significant discomfort due to the jockey-style seating and motion of our boats. Please give us a call on 083 898 9999 to discuss any additional needs that we may be able to help with. All passengers should be in reasonable physical fitness.

We are happy to allow dogs onboard, however this is conditional on all other passengers on your trip being comfortable with dogs. Please come prepared to leave your dog in the car just in case. Our boats are fixed-seat RIBs so your dog will have a small space to sit or lie during the trip.

No, there are no changing facilities at either departure point.

Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

Unfortunately, at this time our boats are not wheelchair accessible. However, we are always willing to assist passengers with limited mobility from getting on and off our boats. Please give us a call on 083 898 9999 to discuss any additional needs that we may be able to help with.

Safety is our priority at Dursey Boat Trips. Our team monitors live weather and sea condition reports and may need to cancel scheduled trips if conditions are unfavourable. In such cases, our team will contact all parties booked on the affected trips. We endeavour do so by 9pm the evening before scheduled trips. However, in the event of unexpected change in sea conditions, trips may be cancelled with 2-hour notice.

On such occasions, our team will offer alternative times or dates to reschedule your trip. If these are not suitable, a full refund or gift voucher will be available.

Dursey Boat Trips have been certified by the Failte Ireland COVID-19 Safety Charter – a Government-endorsed initiative to reinforce confidence in domestic and overseas visitors in tourism businesses. All our lifejackets and boat handrails are sanitized thoroughly between trips. Hand sanitizer is available at both departure points. You do not need to wear a mask on our trips but are welcome to do so.

Bookings can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to departure for a full refund. Bookings cancelled up to 12 hours prior to departure will receive a voucher to rebook. No refunds or gift vouchers are available for bookings cancelled less than 12 hours prior to departure.
Dursey Boat Trips reserves the right to cancel any trip due to government COVID 19 guidelines not adhered to, government guidelines changes, safety issues, weather reports or any unforeseen circumstances, including mechanical failure.
